Open to Celebrate: Summer of Song -- Joni NehRita
We are open to celebrate! Join us at an outdoor, in-person concert featuring local musician, Joni NehRita. Dance, play giant games, blow bubbles and get to know your neighbours at this fun event. Bring a blanket or lawn chair if you’d like. This is a series of four concerts at the community libraries—attend two or more of the concerts for a chance to win a prize!

Joni NehRita is a multi-instrumentalist, self-produced singer/songwriter, arranger, TEDxED & Keynote speaker. The Jamaican-Canadian artist writes songs that explore themes of universal love, social justice and cultivating imagination and compassion. Her 4th full length album, ‘Love & Protest’ is a blend of soul, jazz & Afro-Latin/Caribbean grooves and was written, produced and mixed entirely by NehRita.
In addition to being a performer, NehRita has been a music educator for 20 years, teaching both privately as well as in workshop/masterclass format in high schools & universities including University of Guelph, Wilfrid Laurier University and Seneca at York. Most recently, she was commissioned to design an online creative arts “zine” for teens for Idea Exchange/Cambridge Libraries as well as to compose & create choral arrangements of 3 songs for Cameron Heights C.I.

In collaboration with the Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre and Doon Pioneer Park Community Association's Grand Re-opening, please join us at an outdoor, in-person concert featuring local musician, Amanda Braam. Complete a craft, do a scavenger hunt, play giant games and get to know your neighbours at this fun event. Bring a blanket or lawn chair if you’d like. This is a series of four concerts at the community libraries—attend two or more of the concerts for a chance to win a prize!
