Our relationship with urban cultivation is in the midst of a
tremendous transformation. Katryna will share with you how this renewal
relates to many topics that are of utmost interest at this time, such as
community, mental health, justice, reconciliation, to name a few. The
presentation will be accompanied with slides, as well as a question period,
with time for further conversation and the opportunity to peruse a number of
books pertinent to the subject.
About the presenter:
Katryna is passionate about community, gardening, and well-being. In addition to the physical activities of gardening, Katryna enjoys reflecting on the social, psychological, and political nature of urban gardening. An “independent scholar”, she both loves to read about these subjects and to do “feet on the ground research”, walking to various destinations and engaging in conversation. Katryna has volunteered in numerous organizations in Kitchener, including The Working Centre, and KW Counselling Services. Currently, she teaches French, privately, as well as in a group setting, at Neruda Arts, in St. Jacobs. She holds a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy.
