Event Details

Join Maison Verte as they host a workshop that will teach participants how to handle microgreens safely using a free kit (available to pick up at any KPL location starting on Thursday, October 13), provide information on seeds, define what local means in terms of food sovereignty, mental health and food and share basics on nutrition. You will learn about the stages of growing and harvesting your greens and get some tips on using them in recipes.

Growing your own food is an excellent way to gain a deeper connection with your meals. A nutritious diet can positively impact your mental and physical health. It is a great way to dramatically lower one's carbon footprint and a step towards maintaining a more sustainable lifestyle. Learning to grow greens indoors is a skill that is easy to pick up and does not require expensive supplies or a lot of space. Once you have mastered the basics, you will be able to grow your own greens regardless of seasons from the comfort of your kitchen.
