Event Details

It’s Waste Reduction Week in Canada!

In the last 2 years, many of us used delivery service much more than before, and we created a lot more waste. What happens with that waste and are we recycling properly? How many resources go into producing plastic in the first place? How do your waste choices impact climate change? What can we do to limit the waste we generate as individuals? What are the government's Circular Economy initiatives all about?

Join us for an interactive presentation from Kathleen Barsoum, Waste Management Coordinator for the Region of Waterloo. Kathleen lives in Waterloo, is a business grad from Laurier, and with five children, she knows waste! She'll give an update about changes coming to waste management, share about the lifecycle of recyclable materials and answer your questions. Kathleen promises not to 'waste your time' and will keep you entertained.

This program is part of #DIY Festival.
