Shenaz Kermalli is a freelance journalist and journalism lecturer at Ryerson University

and University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies. She is a former producer with Al Jazeera English, BBC News, and CBC Television. Her writing has appeared in The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, The Ottawa Citizen, TVO, Vice News, Foreign Policy and The Guardian, among other publications.
