85Green: Cooking with Chef Zerka

In honour of Indigenous Peoples Day and Indigenous History Month, we’re kicking off this cooking series with Chef Zerka. Chef Zerka will guide us through making Bannock and 3 Sisters Soup. Bannock is a type of fry-bread that is crispy golden on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. The soup is made of hearty corn, squash, and beans, flavoured with onion and garlic. 

The recipes will be shared in advance of the program so you can purchase and prepare your ingredients.  

This program is part of our 85Green: Cooking Series, a collaboration with Collective Catering at The Underground Flavour Group. With monthly recipes designed for both individuals and families, we hope to build up food literacy in the community while exploring the intersection of food and culture.  

Registration required. This program will be a pre-recorded YouTube video released on Saturday, June 19 at 2 pm. You must register in order to receive a link to view the program.
