Intro to Cryptography

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Virtual Event
Heffner Studio - Zoom

Event Details

Every year LinkedIn publishes an updated list of the most in-demand job skills.  In 2020, the number one hard skill to have was "Blockchain".  What is Blockchain you ask?  Before we can properly answer that, we have to learn about its underlying technology, Cryptography.

In this 4-part series, we will learn how to recreate different historical examples of cryptography.  We will start with simple ciphers (which date back to Julius Caesar), then to Public-key cryptography (circa 1970), and finally we will work our way up to modern day uses which includes Blockchain.

Some examples will be created with pen and paper, and some will be demonstrated using a computer.
*No prior computer coding skills are required*
