Event Details

Join us for another session of Wellness Wednesdays! Please note this is a 6 week series, and each week will build off previous lessons in this session.

We are partnering with Cold Mountain Internal Arts for a Tai Chi lesson to learn an introductory Qigong and part of the Traditional Yang-style Tai Chi. This session will be approximately 45 minutes with time for questions at the end.

Cold Mountain Internal Arts practices different styles of Tai Chi and Qigong exercises. These are traditionally referred to as "internal arts" because they work with the deep structures of the body, and with its subtle energies. Postures and moves are practiced with a soft quality, slowly, and cultivating relaxation of muscles (as opposed to external martial arts that are fast and use external strikes, cultivating muscle power).

Steve Higgins has been practicing martial arts for over 40 years. His combined studies and experience include Jujitsu, Tongbei, Tai Chi and other internal martial arts such as Xing Yi, Ba Gwa and Le He Ba Fa. Steve has studied with Asian masters of old lineages and devotes his life to the practice and teaching of Tai Chi and Qi Gong.
