You’ve never been to an estate planning
workshop like this before! Come and hear the story of "Aunt Millie from
Kapuskasing" who has passed away. The audience will partake in the
evolving crazy story of her estate administration as her executor tries to deal
with the calamity that ensues.
In January
2015, the government of Ontario quietly introduced significant changes to how
estates are going to be administered going forward. Estate costs are going to
be higher and so is the burden and reporting expectations being placed on
executors. This talk will explain what the changes entail and what can be done
to lower estate costs through the use of new dual wills rather than a single
will per person. Having dual wills is especially important for business owners.
Most people in Ontario would benefit from having two wills especially if the
current will is older than January 2015.
Registration required.
