A two-part electronic music workshop with the University of Waterloo Tape Music Club! Feel free to come to both sessions or just one.
Everything that's needed will be provided, but if you want to bring your own laptop computer, please do. All the software we will use is free and multi-platform.
In Session 2 we will use the real-time sound synthesis program, SuperCollider, to build up our own sounds from scratch. No computer coding experience necessary! The basics of additive and subtractive sound synthesis will be explained, and you will have time to use the sounds you build as instruments in improvised performances as part of the session.
Registration required.
