Central Library
Meeting Room C

Event Details

Interpreting is a learned skill and a professional industry with a code of ethics, standards and boundaries. Not knowing about these boundaries and required skills may put organizations and bilingual volunteers at risk and can compromise outcomes for individuals with limited English proficiency.

Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services, in partnership with Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre, is offering a FREE workshop to introduce participants to the standards of practice and code of ethics for Community Interpreters, outline the guidelines for effective and responsible interpretation, and highlight options for interpreter training and skills development.

Space is limited. Please contact Kitchener Waterloo Multicultural Centre for more information: https://www.kwmc.on.ca/ or 519-745-2531.
