Central Library
Teen Area

Event Details

“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”

Audre Lorde

Now a pretty buzzword garnering 11 billion dollars, the concept of self care isn't what it used to be. Once upon a time it was a battle cry for the most vulnerable to care for themselves, and their communities, in a society that considered them (and still considers us) disposable and invisible. Meanings might have changed, but it's never too late to bring this empowering concept back to its roots.

Join this three-week, in person, program where we will learn about the importance of taking back our power from an unjust system. Self care is more than pretty candles and yoga retreats - it's an act of resilience!
