QueerKPL & Dyke Bar Takeover – Storytelling Workshop

Calling all 2SLGBTQIA+ folx! Come tell your story in an inclusive space. Dyke Bar Takeover Kitchener-Waterloo is taking over Kitchener Public Library to host this virtual storytelling series with acclaimed storyteller Erin Rodgers. Through group activities and coaching, Erin will teach you the skills and give you the confidence to tell your story – whatever it may be.

Participants in this virtual workshop will have the opportunity to share a story at a virtual performance event on October 16th. (If you register for this workshop, you don’t need to register for the October 16th performance.).

This event series is intended to highlight the diverse voices of 2SLGBTQIA+ women and individuals who are comfortable in a women-centred space.

QueerKPL is a chapter within Kitchener Public Library that provides 2SLGBTQIA+ specific programming and content. We welcome all members of this community, as well as allies, to these events.

Dyke Bar Takeover Kitchener-Waterloo is a passionate group of volunteers dedicated to creating and supporting event spaces for queer cis, trans women, and allies, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of women. Presenter Bio:

Erin Rodgers is a storyteller, writer and workshop facilitator. She is the proud creator of the storytelling shows Storystar and Awkward (A Storytelling Show). Awkward was featured in Torontoist, The Varsity and Macleans Magazine.

She was also the producer of the Toronto Storytelling Festival in 2015 and 2016. As a comedy performer and storyteller Erin has performed across Canada and in the US. She coaches storytelling and writing and has taught workshops in both Canada and the US. In 2017 she performed her one-person storytelling show Tough in The Toronto Storytelling Festival and the Winnipeg Fringe.
