Using historical\nwritings and audio recordings\, all found at Kitchener Public Library\,\nplaywright Sunil Kuruvilla has crafted this new \;story about the red\nwarehouses of Seagram’s Distilleries that long ago towered on Caroline Street\nand the tunnels below Albert and King where booze was smuggled during\nprohibition. The workers are gone but their spirits can still be found\, in\nbottles and in this play.\n\nAbout Sunil Kuruvilla \nA graduate of the Yale\nSchool of Drama\, Sunil Kuruvilla has had plays produced at many theatres\nincluding the Sundance Institute and the Shaw Festival\; currently\, he is\nworking on a commissioned play for the Stratford Festival. Also a television\nwriter\, Sunil was recently a staff writer on a prime-time drama for NBC\; he has\nwritten movies for CTV and Showtime\, and all the scripts for a 12-hour series\nstarring boxer George Foreman. Sunil was a finalist for a Governor General’s\nLiterary Award and he has received the Truman Capote Literary Fellowship\, the\nCole Porter ASCAP Award\, and Kitchener Public Library’s Dorothy Shoemaker\nLiterary Award years ago.
