Karen is a textile artist who produces art quilts. Her present work is characterized by bold colors, shapes and dimensions using commercial fabrics, painted surfaces, paper, scraps and embellishments from various venues.
The
goal of each piece is an abstraction so colors need not represent reality. Freeform organic images are randomly cut and stitched
into place working intuitively allowing each piece to add to the story.
Watch Karen as she works at her sewing machine,
creating these beautiful pieces during the library's DIY Festival.
