This social event is the perfect start to a frenzied month of writing. Mingle with the local writers who will be cheerleading you through the writing process. Writing is a solitary activity, so this event will introduce you to the local NaNoWriMo community and give you the opportunity to talk writing with authors of all skill levels. The region's MLs (municipal liaisons) will be on hand to answer your questions and get you ready to write!
Come for the refreshments,
stay for the camaradarie! Keynote speaker, Erin Bow will discuss
writing under the pressure of deadlines and distractions. Erin is the
award-winning and critically acclaimed author of Plain Kate, The Scorpion
Rules, and The Swan Riders.
Registration required.
National Novel Writing Month
(NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On
November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing 50,000 words
by 11:59 PM on November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline,
NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.
Authors
around the world, some writing for the very first time, participate in this
month-long event. There are online forums and real-life get togethers (called
write ins) all designed to help writers get their words on the page. For more
information, visit www.nanowrimo.org
and visit the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge region's forums for events taking
place locally.
