This about sums up the philosophy of this glum whodunit, a quintessential ‘70s bummer fairly reeking of failure in which Moseby’s search for a missing girl (a very young Melanie Griffith) takes him through the fallout of the hippie movement and on a Jimmy Buffet deathtrip into the Florida Keys.
