This talk will
explore the many forms of shrubs and their effective use in landscape design
while also considering the colourful variety of blooms and foliage
available today to brighten up and add structure to your garden.
Karen Sciuk, a
resident of Wellesley, a small Mennonite town just west of Waterloo, is a board
member of the Kitchener Horticultural Society, and an active member of the
Kitchener Master Gardeners. During fall 2017, she had the pleasure of
working with the Rockway Gardens staff to plant all the spring bulbs and
witnessed daily the importance and popularity of that space with the public.
Currently, to satisfy her love of horticulture, Karen is a garden coach in her
community and helps to maintain some private residential gardens. Prior
to November 2015, Karen was an active member of both the Oshawa Garden Club and
the Durham Master Gardeners, and worked as the Manager/Buyer in the
trees/shrubs/perennials department of an Oshawa area Garden Centre.
