In Broken Promise, disturbing secrets of a quiet, small town are coming to light. Unemployed journalist, David Harwood, has returned to his childhood home in Promise Falls with his young son. As he finds his own life in freefall, he stumbles across an epic family secret. Visiting his cousin Marla, he discovers she is secretly raising a child who is not her own–a baby she claims was a gift from an “angel”. When the baby’s real mother is found brutally murdered, David sets out to piece together what happened, even if it means in doing so he might prove his own cousin’s guilt. As David starts asking questions about the murder, other strange things begin to happen in Promise Falls. Someone has decided that the entire town must pay for the sins of its past . . . in blood. Broken Promise is the first in the Promise Falls trilogy.
