Jessie’s current body of work is inspired by the richness found in her
ancestry. Specifically, she is interested
in creating work that celebrates and combines Indigenous traditions and her
lived experience as a status recognized First Nations woman in a modern world.
Jessie’s exhibit at Kitchener’s
Central Library Art Gallery has been scheduled to commemorate Canada’s 150th
birthday, and to aid in the understanding about Canada’s First Nations. As
well, her work has been chosen for the Canada
150 Art Express’d project at the Winnipeg Art Gallery later this summer. canada150.wag.ca/
