If you’ve ever wanted to investigate a career in skilled trades, join us for this one-hour information session and learn about the Women in Skilled Trades (WIST) Pre-Apprenticeship Carpentry program at Conestoga College.
The WIST program is:
Tuition-free
Designed to support low-income women who are unemployed or underemployed
34 weeks (26 weeks of practical theory and hands-on experience; 8 weeks of paid work placement)
WIST helps women gain well-paying careers in the trades, build confidence, and provides students with a head-start on achieving apprenticeship certification, if applicable.
Previous experience is not required. All candidates interested in the WIST program are required to attend an information session.
